Verovian Nursing Agency is looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN I) to join the Critical Care Step Down Unit in Mishawaka, Indiana. In this vital role, you will provide direct nursing care to patients who require more intensive observation and treatment than those on general medical-surgical units, but not to the level of ICU care.

Job specification

• Deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate nursing care to patients in the Critical Care Step Down Unit.
• Continuously monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Administer medications, manage IVs, assist with procedures, and operate specialized monitoring equipment.
• Promote patient safety and advocate for patients and their families throughout the care process.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.

Candidate requirements

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN or BSN) from an accredited program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• New graduate RNs or those with up to 1 year of experience in a hospital setting are welcome to apply; Step Down or Progressive Care Unit experience is preferred.
