Job Summary

The Pool Radiologic Diagnostic Technologist performs radiographic imaging studies for patients and assist the Radiologist in performing various radiologic and fluoroscopic examinations.

The Radiology Technologist performs radiographic imaging studies for adult, pediatric, and neonatalpatients.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Preparesexaminationroomtocomplywithsafetyandhygienestandards.
• Performspatienttrackingfromthebeginningofeachproceduretothecompletionofexam.
• Properlyidentifiespatientsbyutilizationof2patientidentifiersandperformstheAIDETcommunicationtoolforallpatient encounters.
• Assistwithschedulingofpatientstoensureproductiveworkflow.
• ProcessesandtransfersimagesutilizingPictureArchivingandCommunicationSystemandreconcilesdailytocorrectany exams on the exceptions list.
• Evaluatesimagesfortechnicalqualityandensuresthatdemographicinformation,includingmedicalrecordnumber and accession numbers are accurate.
• TechnologistmustmarkallimageswithLeadMarkerstodesignateRorLaswellasthree(3)initialsonLeadMarkers.
• MaintainsalldigitalandcomputerizedradiographicequipmentwithinmanufacturestandardbyperformingQCand calibrations when needed.
• Cleansandinspectsradiographicroomsandequipmentaftereachuse.Notifiesthesupervisorofneededequipmentrepairsimmediately.
• Responsibleforstockingprocedureandexamroomsattheendofeachshift. Assist in training Radiology staff and students.
• Practicesradiationprotectiontechniquesusingbeamrestrictivedevices,patientsshieldingskills,andknowledgeof applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients and staff.

Anddutiesasassigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• MustbeagraduateofJRCERTapprovedRadiographyprogram.
• High School Diploma or GED isrequired.
• Mustberegisteredwithinsix(6)monthsofhirebytheAmericanRegistryof Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification isrequired.
