Client Overview:

Our client, an established apparel company specializing in women's and men's categories, is seeking a Freelance Assistant Designer with experience in men's Bottoms. This team-driven environment offers the opportunity to support the full design lifecycle and contribute to seasonal product development.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr - $30/hr

Position Overview:

The Freelance Assistant Designer will support the men's bottoms Design team in day-to-day tasks, including creating CADs from hand sketches, developing tech packs, preparing trims and color cards, and assisting with line sheets. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to work across multiple stages of the design process.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Assistant Designer:

• Support the Design team in all aspects of the design process, from concept through final seasonal deliveries
• Create technical flats, assist with patternmaking/draping, and participate in model fittings
• Produce hand sketches and translate them into CADs
• Assist with seasonal concept research and development
• Create tech packs and help maintain line sheets
• Support material development and color sourcing
• Attend fit sessions and take detailed notes on revisions, fit comments, and updates

Required Experience/Skills of the Freelance Assistant Designer:

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of men's bottoms.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Assistant Designer:

• PLM experience is a plus.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design is required.
