$80,000 - $100,000 a year

Location : Santa Fe Indian Health Center & Satellite Clinics, NM

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in delivering rehabilitative services to patients. The PTA will support treatments, exercise programs, patient education, and documentation while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and culturally respectful clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the PT in administering therapeutic exercises, modalities, and rehabilitative techniques
  • Support patient evaluations and treatment activities under PT supervision
  • Monitor and document patient response to treatment and report changes to the supervising PT
  • Guide patients in activities of daily living, ambulation, and exercise programs
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes and treatment documentation
  • Assist in maintaining therapy facilities and equipment sanitation
  • Contribute to patient and caregiver education regarding therapy programs
  • Participate in scheduled trainings and facility orientation
  • Demonstrate professionalism and cultural respect when working with Native American communities

Required Qualifications

  • Current certification / license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a U.S. jurisdiction
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy care techniques
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to successfully complete federal background screening and credentialing processes
  • Required immunizations and TB screening
  • Experience supporting outpatient therapy care

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in tribal healthcare or rural communities
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems
