Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Float Provider (Outpatient Primary Care)

Location : Escondido, CA (with occasional coverage in El Cajon and nearby sites)

Job Type : Full-Time | Outpatient Only | Monday–Friday

Compensation : $147,000–$199,000 annually (DOE)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient primary care team as a Float Provider . This position supports multiple clinic locations, providing high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse populations.

This role includes a mix of direct patient care , team collaboration , and clinical administration under physician supervision. Ideal candidates are adaptable, collaborative, and committed to improving community health through accessible, compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

Perform comprehensive physical exams and review medical histories.

Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, ECGs).

Provide therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.

Educate and counsel patients on health maintenance, family planning, and disease prevention.

Deliver age-appropriate care and ensure a positive patient experience.

Team Collaboration

Partner with physicians, nurses, and care coordinators to improve patient outcomes.

Support care teams by providing coverage across clinic sites as needed.

Foster a respectful, professional environment for patients and staff.

Clinical Administration

Develop and implement patient management plans and progress notes.

Ensure compliance with practice protocols and supervisory agreements.

Stay informed about clinical best practices, policies, and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program (required)

Current California NP or PA license (required)

Current DEA license (required)

Current BLS certification from an American Heart Association–approved provider (required)

Minimum 2 years of outpatient or family practice experience preferred

Skills and Competencies

Physical Requirements

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range : $147,000–$199,000 annually , depending on experience

Full-time schedule, Monday–Friday, with potential for flexible coverage across nearby locations
