The Victim Outreach Coordinator is responsible for outreach efforts and managing all local incoming referrals according to agency policies for trauma-informed and survivor-centered services. This individual will be responsible for building relationships within regional jails/prisons and in the community. They will have demonstrable experience working with victims of crime, abuse and understands trauma-informed practices in the delivery of services. They will be able to mentor potential clients through dealing with adversity and utilize trauma-responsive communication. They will work alongside the Survivor Care Coordinator to transition community clients to their specific residential program location.
Responsibilities:
● Assist Survivor Care Coordinator with incoming Hope Line calls and local care coordination support for community clients
● Assist incoming residents through the intake process at Her Song’s residential program
● Organize and facilitate outreach groups in jails and the community
● Provide local resources and referrals to outreach clients
● Actively steward and engage with strategic partners such as law enforcement, the judiciary, service provider agencies, local anti-human trafficking coalition, and national referral networks
● Ensure all client data is captured in case management software in order to measure program outcomes
● Attend community, regional, and/or statewide meetings or events to present on, provide information about, and represent Her Song
● Establishes a deep understanding and familiarity of Her Song’s operations, services, and key data points to effectively educate and convey our purpose and impact regionally
● The Care Coordinator works directly with the Her Song team to ensure all services are trauma-informed, trauma-responsive, post-traumatic growth focused, empowerment driven, and strengths-based.
Qualifications
● Skilled in leading effective educational and recovery groups
● Use best practices in trauma-responsive programming
● Effective communication skills and professional attitude, ability to present to large groups
● Knowledge and capacity to work effectively with people from diverse professional, cultural, and personal backgrounds
● Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and manage multiple priorities
● Highly trainable, flexible, and has knowledge of trauma, addiction, and human trafficking
● Basic knowledge of formal and informal community resources
● Must pass background checks, have a valid and clear driving record, and be computer proficient
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
● Fluent in English and Spanish
