[job_card.job_description]Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering, with 1-2 years in a managerial or leadership role, specifically in the solar energy sector. Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects related to solar energy, including knowledge of solar array design, racking systems, and typical subgrade challenges. Strong knowledge of shallow and deep foundation systems, soil structure interaction, construction techniques, and remediation techniques for shallow and deep foundations on large scale engineering projects. Strong knowledge of structural design software and tools relevant to solar energy projects. Software such as LPile, Risa 3D, STAAD Pro, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Robot, FEA modeling techniques Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, NDS Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural engineering, with 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role, specifically in the solar energy sector. A proven ability to provide innovative solutions to improve efficiency of deliverables, motivate and engage staff.

Westwood Professional Services, Inc is seeking a Structural Lead Engineer responsible for overseeing the design, analysis, and implementation of structural engineering projects. This role involves leading a team of engineers and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the structural engineering team focused on solar energy projects, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to engineers and designers.
- Accountable to project deliverable quality
- Provide guidance and review of proposal efforts and invoicing for the structural scope of solar energy projects.
- Implement engineering processes, training, and best practices tailored to the unique challenges of solar energy projects, including innovative design solutions for PV racking system and ancillary structure foundations.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated solutions.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Communicate project status and technical information to clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications.
