Design Engineer II

Description

What You'll Do

Provides engineering and project management support for distribution underbuilt work within transmission projects.

Coordinates with the transmission project management team to prioritize and manage project workflows effectively.

Reviews distribution design packages for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications and standards.

Coordinates field verifications to validate design assumptions and identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle.

Collaborates with Designers and Drafters to ensure timely and complete delivery of design documentation.

Applies technical knowledge to support the preparation of moderately complex designs and calculations.

Supports the discipline's design development on simple projects and contributes to more complex efforts through technical analysis and coordination.

Communicates project challenges related to scope, cost, schedule, and quality in a timely and professional manner.

Ensures adherence to applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.

Maintains clear and professional communication with internal stakeholders and project team members.

The role is primarily remote , with limited field work and up to 10% travel to Jacksonville, Central, and South, FL

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited university

2+ years of experience on the FPL system (distribution)

Advanced Excel User

Proficient with FPL-specific software :

STORMS WMS (Work Management System)

PUR (Project Update Reporting)

Design Manager

Electric Office

Experience with Power BI is a plus

Experience on the FPL transmission system is a plus
