Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the design and development of new or substantially redesigned existing products in accordance with industry regulations, cost and quality guidelines. Support other key business functions such as quality control and sourcing initiatives.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Conducts testing to support quality, purchasing, and existing product initiatives.
• Conducts testing to support quality, purchasing, and existing product initiatives.
• Prototypes and tests new design concepts from engineering.
• Compiles, writes, and catalogues test reports.
• Supports the establishment and maintenance of ISO 17025 methods for possible A2LA certification.
• Facilitates equipment maintenance and calibrations as well as equipment financial records.
• Writes and maintains SOP for lab equipment and testing procedures as necessary.
• Cross-training new hires on laboratory SOPs.
• Works closely with management staff to establish realistic task completion dates.
• Communicates testing schedule and delays to key parties.
• Works within budgets and schedules for the development of new products and other business critical needs.
• Conducts an ongoing search for new processes, and procedures to enhance the Innovation Center's capabilities.
• Completes special studies on as required basis including failure analysis of existing products.
• Support the preparation of test specimen for mechanical and concrete testing.
• Clearly communicates limitations, scheduled dates, delays, etc. to requesting parties to ensure excellent service and timely completion.
• May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
