Job Description

The Child Support System Enhancement Effort focuses on transforming a legacy mainframe application into an advanced web-based platform. This phase continues modernization efforts to deliver improved user experience, system performance, and integration capabilities within an Agile environment.

The Lead Full Stack Java Developer will drive system enhancements, architectural design, and technical leadership. The role requires deep expertise in backend Java development, front-end technologies, systems integration, and the ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and ensure code quality.

Responsibilities Backend Development

• Develop and enhance Java-based backend services using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs.
• Integrate external systems through SOAP/REST web services and messaging platforms.

Frontend Development

• Build responsive UI components using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and Bootstrap.
• Improve usability and accessibility within existing web modules.

AI Enabled Development

• Use AI for:
  • Code generation
  • Code transformation (e.g., COBOL Java)
  • Automated test creation
  • Security analysis
  • Intelligent IDE suggestions
  • Documentation generation

Database & Data Migration

• Support DB integration and migration tasks across DB2, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Write SQL queries, stored procedures, and perform schema analysis.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Use Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle for build automation and pipeline enhancement.
• Participate in deployment, environment support, and CI/CD best practices.

Additional Responsibilities

• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor developers.
• Support performance tuning, messaging integration (JMS/RabbitMQ/Kafka), and troubleshooting.
