Senior Product Manager - Surcharging

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Manager Processing Optimization to join our Product team in the United States or Canada. This role will focus on developing and implementing NMI's customer fee strategies including surcharging, dual pricing, cash discounting, and service fee solutions across our platform. You will drive initiatives that help our partners and merchants offset payment acceptance costs, enhance profitability, and remain compliant with evolving regulatory and card brand requirements. As a Senior Product Manager, you'll define and execute the product vision for customer fee enablement across channels. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, compliance, legal, marketing, and sales teams to create a seamless and scalable framework that supports the diverse needs of ISOs, ISVs, and payment facilitators. You'll translate market insights and partner feedback around customer fee strategies into actionable product strategies. You must also be the driving force behind the execution of the vision, working with product owners, development leaders and product designers who will translate your product vision into design and ultimately software. A successful candidate will possess strong product management expertise in payments, a deep understanding of card network rules and merchant economics, and a track record of bringing customer fee products, like surcharging and cash discounting, to market. You'll be equally comfortable engaging with external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure that NMI's customer fee solutions are innovative, compliant, and easy to adopt.

About Us

We're all about enabling more payments in more ways and more places.

We believe that having a diverse group of employees strengthens both our work and our workplace. We're focused on making NMI more diverse and welcoming with initiatives like having a dedicated Diversity, Equity & Inclusion action group, diversity goals for hiring, anonymized resume screening, affinity groups such as our Women's network and LGBTQ+ Network, open forums for discussions on diversity and social justice, and measuring inclusion and belonging as part of our regular employee engagement surveys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to assess buy vs. build opportunities and ensure the right strategic partnerships are leveraged to accelerate product delivery.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, maintaining alignment with card networks, processors, and legal and compliance teams throughout the lifecycle of customer fee initiatives.
  • Support commercial teams in developing go-to-market strategies, partner enablement materials, and sales training to ensure effective positioning and adoption.
  • Analyze program performance and customer feedback to optimize pricing strategies, adoption rates, and partner satisfaction.
  • Act as subject matter expert on customer fee programs, educating internal and external teams on market positioning, compliance nuances, and best practices.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to identify emerging trends, competitive differentiators, and strategic opportunities to enhance NMI's offering.
