This person will be comfortable working with high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results. The selected candidate will be responsible for : -Contact regional timekeeping personnel to track timesheet submittals company-wide to ensure field timesheets are submitted on time and are accurate-Review and ensure that data entry of all timesheets is complete and balanced in time to complete weekly payroll processing by the established deadline-Use custom software to prepare weekly Union and Non-Union payroll and review data to ensure that the hours are correct and the numbers balance with time entry data-Follow an established process to create weekly and monthly payroll reports for various entities, including monthly Union Reports.-Follow-up with any payroll questions to determine if corrections need to be processed.-Identify payroll discrepancies and use best judgement to resolve them. Refer more complex problems to Payroll Supervisor or the Manager-Respond appropriately to requests from both internal and external departments.-Build positive relationships with company and customer personnel at multiple worksites and provide analytical support related to time and expense functions when requested-Maintain employee confidentiality in record keeping and information subject to privacy laws The selected candidate will also possess : -Must possess excellent critical thinking skills-Must be able to prioritize work and work in an organized manner-Knowledge of state and federal privacy of information laws and requirements-Calculate and review data with attention to detail and accuracy-Union and non-union payroll and general understanding of Certified payroll a plus-Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel-Perform basic math : addition and multiplication as well as sum, average and sort data-Experience with Sage300 (Timberline) construction software a plus-Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally to resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies.-Knowledge of state and multistate wage and hour laws Salary Range : $30-$37 / hr
