[job_card.job_description]Complete 20 hours of continuing education annually as mandated by CTEC Carry a valid $5,000 surety bond as required for CTEC registration Demonstrate strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members Utilize tax preparation software such as Drake, TurboTax, or Lacerte proficiently Follow ethical standards and legal guidelines when handling sensitive financial data Possess a solid understanding of federal and California state tax laws and filing procedures Exhibit excellent organizational skills to manage multiple client cases efficiently Apply analytical thinking to assess financial records and identify eligible deductions and credits Show attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tax calculations and documentation Communicate clearly and professionally to explain tax concepts and respond to client inquiries
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Tax Preparer to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $21.00 to $26.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities :
- Prepare and file accurate federal and California state tax returns for individuals and small businesses
- Review financial documents such as W-2s, 1099s, and receipts to determine correct tax liability
- Advise clients on applicable tax-saving strategies, credits, and deductions
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of clients' personal and financial information
- Maintain compliance with IRS and CTEC regulations, including annual registration renewal and bond requirements
