About The Department : The Facilities Department provides facility management, building and grounds maintenance, and custodial services for County-owned facilities and grounds. In support of County departments and offices that provide direct services to the community, Facilities Department teams work from a central warehouse in Bend managing and maintaining facilities across Deschutes County at sites in La Pine, Sisters, Redmond, and Bend.

About The Job : This position is responsible for maintaining attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities for Deschutes County staff and the public by performing janitorial and custodial duties. Duties include routine cleaning, trash disposal, restroom sanitation, and replenishing restroom supplies; cleaning, waxing, and polishing floors; vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets; cleaning windows, walls, blinds, and woodwork; checking facilities and ground for unsafe conditions which includes reporting hazards and dangerous areas. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 4 : 30 p.m. to 1 : 00 a.m.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform custodial and janitorial duties, including routine cleaning, trash disposal, and restroom sanitation in County Facilities.
• Follow safety rules and County procedures to minimize risk of accidents and liability exposure, check facilities and grounds for unsafe conditions.
• Report safety conditions, security issues, and illegal activities; report problems and emergency situations.
