Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An educational role is available for a Teacher specialized in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a K-12 setting. This position focuses on delivering tailored instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, fostering their academic growth and munication skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Use specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and counselors
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Provide support and training for families to promote student success at home
- Maintain accurate records and ply with all educational regulations and policies
Desired Qualifications and Experience :
Certification or licensure in teaching deaf and hard of hearing students or related special education credentialsExperience working with K-12 students who have hearing impairmentsStrong munication skills, including proficiency in sign language or willingness to learnKnowledge of assistive technology and educational resources for the deaf / hard of hearing populationAbility to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environmentLocation : Griffin, Georgia
