As an Experienced Transportation / Civil Engineer, you will lead the evaluation, selection, and design of various transportation system solutions for a range of communities. You will be involved in generating conceptual designs and construction documents, collaborating with staff at all levels while conducting field work, coordinating closely with members of complete streets engineering and planning teams, engaging in discussions with clients and communities, and on-the-job training.

Your focus will be to offer innovative and well-thought-out design solutions that align with client objectives and adhere to the latest best practices established by NACTO and similar organizations. Additionally, you will be responsible for project management, overseeing tasks, and assigning technical staff as necessary to deliver projects to clients.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing design tasks for transportation engineering and planning studies
• Preparing conceptual designs that are accurate, feasible, and visually engaging
• Preparing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for transportation engineering projects, including complete streets, bikeways, traffic signal, signing / striping, and lighting projects
• Developing scopes of work and fees for multi-disciplinary traffic engineering design projects
• Managing direct client interaction and communication with members of the public through community engagement
• Marketing and bringing in new projects by nurturing client relationships, preparing proposals, and presenting in interviews
• Performing field work, such as site review preceding design, and support during construction
• Mentoring and training your colleagues and receiving mentorship from senior staff
