As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will work under the supervision of a dermatology provider and lead medical assistant.
You will navigate the providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, education and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely professional manner.
Requirements :
- Ability to courteously escort patients to the examination room.
- Scribing accurately the encounter in the EHR while the provider conducts the patient exam.
- Competently and accurately prepare pathology and laboratory specimens.
- Prepare necessary surgical dressing and instruct patient in post-operative wound care, such as dressing changes and appropriate use of medications.
- Provide wound care checks, dressing changes, suture removal and assist with surgical and cosmetic procedures as directed by the provider.
- Preparing and maintaining a sterile field during surgical procedures. Cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
- Obtain prior authorizations.
- Organizational skills needed.
Education :
Current medical assistant certificate preferred, but not mandatory.
Experience :
Minimum of three years as a medical assistant preferred. Experience with EHR and web based scheduling is a plus.
