Must-Have :

• Experience in Labor and Delivery, Medsurg, and Pediatrics
• Critical access experience preferred
• Experience titrating drips
• Ability to read telemetry strips

Description :

The position involves working in a unit with Labor and Delivery, postpartum, and triage patients.

There are 4 Labor and Delivery beds and 6 postpartum beds available.

Common conditions include labor and delivery, postpartum issues, hyperbilirubinemia, and preterm labor.

A single triage bed is available for assessments.

C-sections are performed in the operating room, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 1 during inductions and 1 : 2 for postpartum care.

Nurses are responsible for monitoring telemetry and reading strips, although assistance is available when needed.

The unit has access to various respiratory equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPap.

Nurses are required to assist patients who may require troubleshooting with respiratory devices.

Charge nurses are present on each shift and may take assignments if necessary.

Support is available from an on-call OB / neonatologist and anesthesia.

All nurses must meet the weekend and holiday requirements as part of their commitment.

Nurses will be required to float to Medsurg / Pediatrics when necessary.

A one-hour response time for call is required.

The unit encourages attributes such as effective communication, motivation, and approachability among its nursing staff.
