Vast is looking for a Test Engineer , reporting to the Director, Structures Test, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. If you join us in this position, you will assist in development, qualification, and acceptance testing for the Haven-1 program.  This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills.

This will be a full-time ,  exempt position located in our  Long Beach location.

Responsibilities :

• Work with Responsible Engineers (RE) to design, prepare, and execute test campaigns. This includes the creation of new test stands and / or operation of existing resources
• Own and perform all necessary design, analysis, and project management from start to finish to make test concepts a reality
• Conduct PDRs (Preliminary Design Reviews), CDRs (Critical Design Reviews), and TRRs (Test Readiness Reviews) before all design / tests are started
• Incorporate continuous learning / improvement and share it with your team members
• Work under the direction of the Structures & Mechanism Test Manager to develop and execute testing on primary / secondary structures of the Haven-1 Space Station
• Proactive problem-solving skills such as failure analysis and root cause investigation
• Adhere to, enforce, and improve the test processes and best practices of Vast and the test organization
• Produce professional and traceable documentation, including electrical, mechanical, and fluid schematics of the test systems
