Assistant Teacher – Early Childhood Education Pay: $16–$18 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Location: The Learning Experience – Jenison, MI

About The Learning Experience

The Learning Experience – Jenison is seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Our center offers a warm, supportive environment where children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on discovery.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
  
  
• Assist with implementing the L.E.A.P. Curriculum, engaging children in play-based learning and daily routines.
  
  
• Help guide classroom activities including circle time, sensory play, early literacy, art, and outdoor exploration.
  
  
• Build positive relationships with children and families through daily communication and a friendly, professional presence.
  
  
• Assist with meal times, diapering or toileting, classroom organization, and maintaining safety and cleanliness.
  
  
• Work collaboratively with center leadership to uphold licensing standards and classroom quality.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
  
  
• Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare program preferred.
  
  
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
  
  
• Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
  
  
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (training available).
  
  
• Must meet all Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
  
  
• Dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about early learning.
