The Edge Construction is hiring a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of commercial carpentry experience and a solid understanding of framing, drywall hanging, and door hardware installation. Key Responsibilities

Perform light gauge metal framing and drywall hanging on commercial job sites

Install HMD and solid wood doors, hardware, and Division 10 accessories

Assist with acoustic ceiling grid framing and related finish carpentry

Read and interpret blueprints, product labels, and job specs

Receive and inventory materials on-site

Follow project layout and execute work that is plumb, square, and level

Safely operate scissor lifts and other equipment as needed

Work both independently and within a team environment

Communicate effectively with crew and project leaders

Maintain a clean, organized job site

Submit daily reports and updates via iPad apps

Comply with all OSHA and company safety standards

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of commercial carpentry experience (framing & drywall required)

Acoustical ceiling grid experience is a plus

Familiarity with HMD and solid wood door / hardware installations

Experience operating scissor lifts

OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain — training available)

Valid driver’s license

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Basic computer and mobile app proficiency

Reliable, on-time, and professional demeanor

Team player with strong communication skills

Schedule

Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Overtime available based on project demand

Location

Job sites throughout the Greater Chicago area

Must be able to commute or travel to Bartlett, IL and surrounding regions
