Arizona Coding Apprentice

A company is looking for a HIMS Coding Apprentice Facility Inpatient.

Key Responsibilities

Learn to analyze, evaluate, and abstract data from patient electronic records

Assign applicable ICD diagnoses and ICD & CPT procedure codes for inpatient and outpatient encounters

Collaborate with the HIMS team on various assigned projects and tasks under supervision

Required Qualifications

High school diploma / GED or equivalent specialized training in medical record keeping principles

Requires a coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC

Basic knowledge of ICD / CPT coding principles and AHIMA coding competencies

Familiarity with pharmacologic agents

Ability to work effectively with common office software
