JOB SUMMARY :

The Junior Carpenter / Millworker supports the Production team in the fabrication and assembly of scenic, architectural, and branded elements. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build their skills in custom fabrication while learning from seasoned craftsmen and cross-functional teams. This role offers opportunities for advancement into Intermediate and Senior Carpenter / Millworker positions as skills, speed, and craftsmanship develop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assist in the fabrication and assembly of scenic structures, millwork components, and custom environments.
• Support senior carpenters in preparing materials, cutting, sanding, laminating, and finishing components.
• Read and interpret basic shop drawings, diagrams, and instructions with supervision.
• Operate standard woodworking tools and machinery (table saws, chop saws, routers, drills, sanders, etc.) safely and efficiently.
• Apply laminates, veneer, and edge banding with attention to quality and finish consistency.
• Assist in constructing modular and knock-down elements designed for transport and reassembly.
• Collaborate with CNC, Metal, Paint, and Graphics departments to support integrated fabrication processes.
• Participate in on-site installations as needed, assisting with setup, assembly, and takedown.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to all safety procedures and shop standards.
• Report material shortages, equipment issues, and quality concerns to the Foreman or Production Manager.
• Contribute to team efficiency by following direction and proactively supporting the production workflow.
