Xylem, MDI Brand / Mobile Demineralization / Deionization systems : mobile, trailer-based units that provide ultra-pure water for industrial and commercial use

The Field Service Manager with a DOT Background is responsible for managing the overall service activities within the organization. This role involves leading a team of service professionals, developing and implementing service procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Service Operations Supervisor conducts regular audits, reviews service data, and collaborates with other departments to address service issues and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing service documentation, providing training and development opportunities for staff, and reporting on service performance to senior management.

Responsibilities : DOT Background

  • Staff Management :
  • Promote Safety Awareness : active observation and coaching
  • Hire, train, and evaluate service technicians
  • Create work schedules and assign tasks to team members
  • Provide guidance and support to team members
  • Address and resolve any employee issues or conflicts

Customer Service :

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or complaints
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers
  • Collaborate with sales team to identify and pursue new service opportunities
  • Inventory Management :

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of service parts and equipment
  • Coordinate with procurement team to order necessary supplies
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize waste
  • Budgeting and Cost Control :

  • Develop and manage service department budget
  • Identify and implement cost saving measures
  • Monitor expenses and ensure they are within budget guidelines
  • Quality Control :

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance standards for service department
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to improve service quality
  • Safety and Compliance :

  • Ensure service department follows all safety regulations and guidelines
  • Develop and implement safety training for service technicians
  • Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and make necessary adjustments to comply
  • Reporting and Communication :

  • Prepare and present regular reports on service department performance
  • Communicate regularly with upper management on service operations and any issues or concerns
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve overall company performance.
  • Team Management :

  • Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance.
  • Conflict Resolution : Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.
  • Motivational Skills : Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.
  • Qualifications :

  • Background with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ( _FMCSA_ ) regulations
  • Department of Transportation (DOT)background
  • Preferred - bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field with at least 4 years experience, with at least 1 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Experience with developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and systems.

  • The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 plus an annual bonus   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
