The DGS Office of Information Systems & Services (ISS) is looking to hire a Senior Database Administrator. The Senior DBA is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and strategic planning of enterprise Oracle and SQL Server database environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

Our ISS team is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to play a vital role in maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of our enterprise database systems. This position is essential to supporting DGS's mission-critical operations and strategic initiatives.

Job duties include, but are not limited to :

• Installing, configuration, upgrading, and performing performance tuning for Oracle and SQL server database.
• Developing and implementing robust database backup, recovery, and disaster recover procedures.
• Ensuring database security and configuration compliance with all agencies, state, and federal policies.
• Collaborating with application development teams on data modeling, design, and testing for new solutions.
• Providing Linux system administration services and on-call support for critical database systems.
• Developing and enforcing data standards and guidelines and on-call support for critical database systems.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for all database configuration and operational procedures.

This position is located in Richmond, Virginia and eligible for a hybrid telework schedule (telework up to 2 days / week)  after the completion of a Telework Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications :

Ability to work with enterprise architects, security teams, system administrators, and application developers to support cross-functional database needs.

Additional Considerations :

Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex database issues, recommend scalable solutions, and implement best practices.
