Entry Level - Loan Specialist

The Home Loan Specialist is an entry level role supporting various Channels. The individual acts as a key contributor to facilitate efficient and effective processes that support business and customer service objectives. Responsibilities may be limited within a specific function / channel or across functions / channels.

Seeking a self-starter who thinks outside the box to join our team as an Income Specialist. The primary focus of this role is to calculate, review, and analyze various types of income, including financial, rental, business, and military income.

Responsibilities

• Performing routine data entry and validation tasks
• Initiating third party orders (title, appraisal, hazard, flood cert, credit, etc.)
• Reviewing and validating loan documents
• Handling routine calls, emails and / or chat responses
• Assigning and distributing work loads
• Monitoring work queues and intervening as needed
• Interacting with multiple departments to expedite processing and / or issue resolution
• Performing other related duties as required and assigned
• Evaluate and process loan applications, ensuring all necessary conditions are met before proceeding.
• Halt processing if credit checks reveal issues or if specific conditions are not satisfied.
• Review and rework loan applications as needed to meet investor guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to investor guidelines, particularly regarding Debt-to-Income (DTI) and Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain compliance with all regulatory and investor requirements.

• Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
• Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
• Effective time management skills to deliver work on time
• Capable communicator, written and oral
• Demonstrated proficiency with computers and mainstream computer applications (Microsoft, Google, etc.)
• Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
• If no experience, college graduates preferred

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00 / hr.
