Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools to produce precision parts from steel and aluminum. This role involves interpreting engineering drawings, selecting machining methods, and ensuring all parts meet quality and safety standards in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Plan machining operations and determine the best sequence of work.
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills and lathes (including live tooling lathes).
- Perform precision machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grooving.
- Measure and verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets as needed; read and interpret CNC programs.
- Fit and assemble machined parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
- Complete production and quality documentation.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes.Experience in a heavy machinery manufacturing environment preferred.Familiarity with Haas CNC controls required.Ability to operate both CNC and manual machines (manual experience a plus).Strong attention to detail and quality.Self-motivated team player with good communication skills.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floors.Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and stoop throughout the shift.Good vision, including close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
