Description : Unit Information :

Number of beds : 28

Number of staff : 80

Day shift consists of 1 CNC, 4-5 nurses, 2-4 PCTs, and a monitor tech.

Night shift consists of 1 CNC, 4-5 nurses, 2-4 PCTs, and a monitor tech.

Patient ratios are 1 : 5, may flex to 1 : 6.

Type of equipment includes capnography, PCAs, remote telemetry.

EMR system is Meditech.

No on-call requirement.

Mandatory float to like units is required.

Typical procedures performed on the unit include :

Ortho procedures such as spines, TKAs, THAs, and other ortho trauma repairs.

Post-catheterization procedures without intervention.

Blood administration and heparin gtts, bumex, lasix.

Ideal candidates are positive, flexible, and able to handle high pressure.

Team players who are willing to step in and assist with tasks outside of their assignments are valued.

Unit guidelines include :

Clocking in and out for lunch breaks.

Completing bedside shift report.

Performing hourly safety rounds.
