Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology - Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology

The Manager supporting the Division of Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology in DLMP provides leadership for the Metals, Clinical Mass Spectrometry, and Clinical Forensic Toxicology Laboratories, ensuring high-quality, reliable testing that supports patient care and reference laboratory services. This role partners with laboratory directors and supervisors to monitor performance and financial metrics, guide workforce and capacity planning, and implement process improvements across specialized testing environments. Additional responsibilities include resolving operational challenges, fostering collaboration across teams and institutional partners, and providing supervision and guidance to staff as appropriate. The Manager plays a key role in driving operational improvements, supporting the adoption of automated and specialized laboratory processes, and ensuring alignment with departmental and Mayo Clinic priorities.

Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology - Test Development and Implementation

The Manager supporting Test Development and Implementation in DLMP plays a critical role in ensuring diagnostic tests are developed and implemented across the department that directly improve patient care. This role works in close partnership with scientific and operational leaders to support alignment with regulatory, quality, and institutional standards across the test lifecycle. This role partners closely with scientific and operational leaders to drive innovation, standardization, and excellence across the test lifecycle in alignment with regulatory, quality, and institutional standards. Within this integrated model, the Manager provides consistency in resource allocation and process standardization across development and implementation activities while demonstrating strong leadership in critical thinking, problem-solving, and change management. Key responsibilities include optimizing program structure, supporting workforce and capacity planning, and advancing initiatives that improve efficiency, timeliness, and quality outcomes. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with clinical laboratory divisions, information technology, quality, finance, and institutional partners to identify barriers, implement solutions, and strengthen end to end test development and implementation processes to meet organizational priorities.

Emergency Medicine

The Manager in Emergency Medicine is critical to shaping the future of emergency care, providing leadership for adult and pediatric emergency medicine practices, including digital health programs, and partnering closely with physician and allied health leaders to oversee daily operations and advance strategic priorities. This role drives excellence and innovation through teamwork, systems thinking, data-informed decision-making and effective change management, leading efforts that improve patient flow, quality and experience while supporting the integration of digital and virtual care into emergency medicine operations. Working collaboratively with many departments and disciplines across inpatient, outpatient and virtual settings, the Manager develops and implements solutions aligned with departmental and Mayo Clinic priorities while mentoring direct and indirect reports to support reliable, high-performing operations.

OBGYN

The OBGYN department seeks a manager for Obstetrics (OB) and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). This position oversees two complex divisions and includes outpatient services, the Mayo Family Birth Center, emergency OB care, three independent operating rooms, fetal surgery and OB ultrasound services. Alongside oversight of these clinical divisions, this role will be a driver supporting the new build of the OB/MFM Practice, requiring significant engagement with key stakeholders including design firms.

Department of Pediatrics/Mayo Clinic Children's

The Manager partners closely with pediatric practice leadership and division chairs to oversee day-to-day operations while advancing departmental and Mayo Clinic Children's initiatives. This role is responsible for monitoring key performance metrics, including access and financial performance, collaborating with colleagues and leaders across the organization, and leading projects that drive operational excellence. The manager plays a critical role in implementing innovative and automated solutions, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with Mayo Clinic's strategic priorities and enterprise goals. Additional responsibilities include resolving operational issues, fostering effective collaboration, and providing supervision and support for allied health staff as appropriate.

Hospital Operations - Patient Flow and UR

The Manager plays a pivotal role in driving optimal hospital patient flow, serving as the key leader responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous processes that help patients move efficiently throughout the facility. This position is dedicated to proactively identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, removing obstacles to timely care and championing continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of patient movement.

Central to the role is the oversight of Utilization Review (UR), where the manager upholds the highest standards and best practices to maximize resource utilization, ensure appropriate levels of care and support seamless care transitions. Through strategic management of hospital census and effective bed allocation, the manager strives to ensure that capacity aligns with patient needs, enabling prompt admissions, transfers and discharges. Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative leaders - including nursing, physician, and ancillary teams - the practice manager addresses real-time throughput challenges, implements process improvements and streamlines communication across teams.

Hospital Operations - ATC and Ambulance Operations

The Manager for the Midwest Admission and Transfer Center (ATC) and Ambulance Operations oversees patient transfers and care coordination across the hospital system. This role manages the ATC contact center, ensuring staff facilitate efficient and safe patient movement throughout the Midwest Practice. The manager collaborates closely with ambulance services leadership to ensure timely coordination and seamless handoffs, further supporting efficient patient transport and continuity of care.

The manager works closely with clinical, administrative and transport teams to resolve challenges and drives process improvements, ensuring patient transitions between facilities are well-organized. Responsibilities include partnering with hospital command centers to optimize patient flow, improve inter-facility and international transfers and support operational initiatives. Using data analytics and digital tools, the manager identifies and removes obstacles to patient movement. The role also supports hospital growth and strategic goals by building strong partnerships and aligning with organizational priorities.

Hospital Operations - Discharge and Care Management

The Manager supporting Discharge and Care Management for the Rochester hospital practice serves a critical role in ensuring coordinated, patient-centered transitions of care throughout the hospital and beyond our walls. This position is responsible for supporting and leading a multidisciplinary team focused on discharge planning, care coordination and post-acute care management to promote optimal patient outcomes and efficient hospital throughput.

Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, case managers and external care partners to develop individualized discharge plans, address barriers to timely discharge and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager utilizes data-driven tools to identify high-risk patients, monitor length of stay and implement process improvements that reduce readmissions and enhance patient satisfaction. Additionally, this role supports the hospital's strategic goals by fostering strong relationships with community providers, facilitating seamless handoffs and advancing innovative care management initiatives that align with organizational priorities for quality, safety and continuity of care.

Hospital Operations - Trauma Center

The Manager supporting the Trauma Center serves as the administrative and operational leader supporting both the Adult and Pediatric Trauma Programs. This role works closely with the Trauma Medical Directors and Program Managers to support the alignment of both programs with American College of Surgeons (ACS) Trauma Center standards and facilitate development and implementation of Trauma Center strategic goals.

In the Trauma Center's two-program model, the Manager provides consistency in management, resource allocation and policy development while demonstrating leadership in critical thinking, conflict management and problem-solving. This role includes optimizing program structure, supporting workforce planning strategies and advancing initiatives that improve operational efficiency and quality of patient care. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with hospital practice and support areas to address barriers and solutions, in conjunction with trauma program leaders and supporting trauma system development through collaboration with regional partners.

Primary Care - CIMGP

The Manager in Primary Care plays a crucial role in shaping the health and well-being of the entire community. By overseeing daily clinic operations, the Manager ensures seamless support for employees, dependents, and the community for primary care patients. This role will support Community Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care (CIMGP) in addition to other assignments within Primary Care. The Manager role partners with CIMGP and Primary Care leadership teams to support transformation, innovation and automation efforts. This position requires strong collaboration across various departments including the Department of Medicine and multi-disciplinary teams along with strong communication skills to support the daily operations in addition to Bold. Forward. In Rochester.

Qualifications

Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

OR

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience required.
