Entry-Level Controls Engineer / Robotics Programmer

Holland, MI | Full-time

Kickstart your career in industrial automation! We’re looking for a junior-level Controls Engineer with internship or hands-on experience in robotics programming and PLC systems .

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop and integrate control systems for custom automation equipment. You'll gain experience with PLCs, HMIs , and robotic platforms like FANUC, ABB, Motoman, and KUKA — plus exposure to Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) . Occasional travel for installation and commissioning (up to 35%).

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.
  • Internship, co-op, or project experience with robotics and / or PLCs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and configure robotic systems to meet customer specs.
  • Develop and fine-tune robot paths and structures.
  • Integrate robotics with PLCs and HMIs.
  • Troubleshoot and modify PLC / HMI logic as needed.
  • Support installation, debugging, and system startup.
  • Assist in resolving automation and welding process issues.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical or control system faults.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
