Responsibilities As a Traveling Fiber Optic Installation Supervisor, you will oversee our fiber optic installation projects and provide support to both the Traveling Underground Fiber Optic Placing Foreman and Fiber Optic Placing Laborers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge in fiber optic installation, and experience in managing teams in a dynamic field environment. This position demands a commitment to quality, safety, and collaboration among all team members. In addition, you will:
Qualifications About You: Safety is a part of your day to day You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work You are looking for long term projects You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team You are an experienced leader who supported the day to day needs of a construction crew You know the telecom construction industry. Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading, etc. You enjoy problem-solving and like to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field You embrace the challenge of coaching and mentoring your team You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn custom software High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or relevant certifications preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in fiber optic installation or related fields, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong understanding of fiber optic installation processes, including experience with Condux Gulfstream 400 and various underground digging machinery. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with team members and clients effectively. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively. OSHA 30 certification is preferred. Knowledge of railroad rules and regulations are a plus. MOS Codes 12H, 12N, 25W, 91X, 2549, 2591 relate well to this position.
