Performs routine Electroencephalograms Performs bedside EEGs Performs EEGs in the NICU Set up and download of ambulatory EEGs Participate in On-Call program Performs Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response Tests Performs Visual Evoked Response Tests Performs Somatosensory Evoked Response Tests Performs NCV Tests Assists physician with EMG Tests Performs Autonomic Testing Assists physician as needed Monitors Cervical Procedures (Recognizes relevant anatomic sites, performs Evoked Potentials, MEPs, EMGs as appropriate) Monitors Lumbar Procedures (Recognizes relevant anatomic sites, performs Evoked Potentials, PSS, EMGs as appropriate) Monitors Carotid Endarterectomies (Recognizes brain anatomy and SSEP pathways, performs EEGs and SSEPs as appropriate) Monitors Skull Based and other procedures (Recognizes skull based nerves with corresponding muscles for appropriate electrode placement) Understands the importance of optimum outcomes in relation to IOM and collaborates with the neurophysiology team (PhDs, IOM monitoring physicians and surgeon) to achieve them Participates in On-Call Program Monitors EEGs in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Participates in training of junior staff Troubleshoots equipment Assists junior techs in resolving technical problems Troubleshoots networking problems Attends record review sessions with peers and electroencephalographs Studies for certification / registration in the various neurophysiology procedures Attends seminars and pursues work-related programs independently Is able to maneuver around the HOV environment (order entry, documentation and charge entry) Is able to view, schedule and check in patients in Cadence Is able to operate communication devices (email, viscera, pagers, phones and fax machines) Is able to troubleshoot when networking problems occur Education : High School diploma required. Graduation from a Neurophysiology program and / or Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred. . Current CPR certification from American Heart Association. One (1) year experience in two (2) of the following neurophysiology areas (EEG / EP, EP / IOM, Autonomic / EMG, EMG / EEG). Hourly Pay Range :
$30.46 - $45.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
