Assembler-Packer
The Assembler-Packer assembles packaging components following drawings, organizes inventory for other assemblers, and works as a team to pack and ship customer materials securely and on-time.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Packing : Carefully loading customer equipment and materials into TransPak crates using hand trucks, pallet jacks, ladders, or ramps.
- Crate Assembly : Unloading, preparing, and completing crate assembly using hammers, nail guns, or drills. May assist with other crate assembly tasks as needed.
- Detailed Packaging Component Assembly : Folding, gluing, taping, stitching, and assembling corrugated, foam, and plastic packaging components.
- Quality Checks and Cost Savings : Accurately assembling kits, returning unused materials to stock, maintaining a clean work area, and performing quality checks for accuracy.
Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member :
Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.Marginal Functions
Maintains records of scheduled jobs upon packingCommunicates with supervisor / dispatch on completion of jobsHousekeeping : sweeping and disposing of scrap foam / lumber or other miscellaneous items.Perform other related work as assigned.Desired Education / Knowledge / Skills / Experience :
Education, years of experience, knowledge, certifications, etc. necessary for the role.
Required :
3-6 months prior packaging and / or assembly experienceAbility to operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materialsSpatial awareness and meticulous attention to detail for packing and securing materials to prevent damageAbility to work independently or in teams with minimal supervisionClear communication and understanding of written and verbal instructionsStrong attention to detailEnglish fluency (reading, writing, and communication)Basic computer skills (logging in / out with ID, potentially learning new software)Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a steady pace in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing teamAbility to read a tape measure in and ? incrementsPreferred :
