Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse plays a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to the specific needs of our department and consistent with nursing standards. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, the RN delivers comprehensive care using established nursing models like Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage while advocating for patients and their families.
- Continuously assess and manage patient pain, ensuring effective interventions are documented appropriately.
- Execute medical orders, monitor patient conditions, and provide accurate documentation of care delivered.
- Respond promptly and effectively to patient requests, striving to anticipate and meet their needs.
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications needed for recovery and wellness.
- Prepare patients and families for future self-management by promoting healthy habits and disease prevention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Experience Required: 1-3 years in a relevant nursing role.
- Education Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Licenses and Certifications Required: Current Texas RN license or compact state license, BLS within 30 days, ACLS within 6 months, ENPC and TNCC or ATCN within 12 months, and NIHSS within 60 days and annually.
- Preferred: Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN).
