Primary Purpose of Position

The role of a plumbing apprentice is to gain hands-on experience in the plumbing trade. Under the guidance of a licensed plumber, apprentices will assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems while becoming familiar with tools, materials, and job site protocols. This position involves studying plumbing codes and safety standards, as well as technical concepts related to water and gas systems. Through practical training, apprentices will accumulate the hours and knowledge necessary to qualify for the journeyman plumber exam, ultimately aiming to achieve licensure as a professional plumber.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

• Execute entry-level tasks in boiler replacement applications independently.
• Perform entry-level plumbing tasks competently.
• Handle entry-level responsibilities in flue venting applications.
• Assist in advanced home comfort product applications.
• Complete clerical duties necessary to finalize job work orders.
• Execute assigned job tasks, including clerical work, as directed by lead technicians.
• Support experienced plumbing technicians in everyday plumbing tasks.
• Learn to install plumbing systems, equipment, and products.
