General Functions

SUMMARY

Evaluates cardiac patients, plans and implements a cardiac rehabilitation program. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field from an accredited college or university

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 12 week internship in cardiac rehabilitation

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : 1-2 years experience with exercise prescription in a clinical setting

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : American College of Sports Medicine – Clinical Exercise Physiologist

REQUIRED COURSES / COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR) : Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
