Monitor Observer-ICU, Per Diem, Night Shift

JOB TITLE: Monitor Tech, ICU

REPORTS TO: Unit Director/Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition. Observes rhythms at the central station for all areas of acute hospital. Maintains alarms and is able to troubleshoot technical functions of the cardiac monitors. Responsible in collaboration with the nurse for interpretation, and transmission which includes appropriate lead placement. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and medications. One year experience in critical care preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Basic Arrhythmia certificate and BLS upon hire.
