Performance Engineer (Testing Enablement)

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Performance Engineer – Testing for our client in the Utilities Industry. This is a Contract opportunity located in Dallas, TX 75201. Pay Rate $85.00 – $110.00ph Summary : We are looking to onboard a Performance Engineer on to the team to lead the performance engineering strategy across platforms and application teams. This role will go beyond just test execution and will oversee the design and build of enterprise performance tool sets, while also overseeing the execution of tests to ensure the scalability, reliability and responsiveness of our applications to cater to current and future increased demand. Responsibilities : Serve as a central point of contact for all best practices and governances, and adopt them for all performance testing efforts Review current capabilities and analyze performance bottlenecks with applications, databases, APIs, and infrastructures, and evaluate current performance testing monitoring Assess existing performance testing toolsets and recommend additional tools or frameworks to improve the bottlenecks identified Propose, pilot and implement new tools and frameworks to enhance scalability testing requirements and performance visibility Define and verify SLA, SLO and capacity benchmarks with Enterprise Architecture inputs and incorporate them into performance test runs Create and socialize a Performance Testing Intake Form to be used as a standard process for all new project initiations Consult with project teams and functional users to understand their requirements and translate them into performance test requirements Define and design specific load models aligned with production traffic and futuristic load patterns for specific applications Identify infrastructure performance testing opportunities and implement these solutions to the framework Improve current executions by deploying continuous performance testing processes across various projects Work closely with the infrastructure team to upgrade and integrate performance testing tools with the CI / CD pipeline Work closely with developers and product managers / owners to help identify areas of improvement for Performance Testing on an ongoing basis Define and manage the performance engineering strategy and roadmap for the Testing team with constant improvements Assess and report on project testing health metrics Share insights, lessons learned, and defect triage status Stay current with new performance testing technologies and recommend their implementation Help each team identify opportunities to shift to a Test-Driven Development model Requirements : Proven experience as a Performance Engineer leading engineering strategy Experience developing and maintaining performance test scripts using tools specifically Neoload and JMeter Experience analyzing performance bottlenecks across applications, databases, APIs, and infrastructure Demonstrated ability to assess, recommend, and implement new performance testing tools and frameworks Experience defining and verifying SLAs, SLOs, and capacity benchmarks Ability to consult with project teams to translate business requirements into performance test requirements Experience deploying continuous performance testing processes Experience integrating performance testing tools with CI / CD pipelines Deep understanding of application architecture and priorities Ability to provide quick feedback for improvement while balancing team priorities with enterprise governance standards Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
