Description :

This is a 12-bed unit utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles at the intermediate level.

Common patient populations include patients transferring from an intensive care unit.

This unit cares for patients who have experienced neuro trauma, subarachnoid, intraventricular or intracerebral hemorrhage, ENT patients with cancer who have had tumor resection and flap reconstruction, post-operative spine patients, and a wide range of neurological problems.

The patient ratio is 1 : 3.

Staff will work nights for 13 weeks.

Guaranteed hours can be 36 or 48 per week.

Staff will work every other weekend and holiday.

The candidate must adhere to the float policy.

Must have prior experience with aneurysms and repair, arterial line management, blood product administration, craniotomy, CVA, non-invasive airway management, telemetry, and post-surgical care.

Experience with managing cardiac drips and vasoactive drips without titration is also required.

Staff will be expected to provide support for various interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and respiratory services.

Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

The daily census typically averages around 10 patients.

The unit focuses on a range of neurological and neuromuscular disorders.

Candidates must provide verification of certifications upon application.
