Head Of Video Sales And Brand Partnerships

Wondery is looking for a Head of Video Sales and Brand Partnerships to support our rapidly growing business. This is an exciting time to join a fast-growing company in an emerging new media space and in a role with broad scope and the potential to make a real impact. This person will work closely with the Head of Podcast Ad Revenue and other Wondery team members to establish Wondery as the leading global podcast ad network with significant expansion in video capabilities. This role is a critical member of the Sales Team, focused on using data to make decisions that will help us scale, find ways to innovate in video podcast monetization, optimize margins, train Account Executives and Account Managers in overall video monetization strategies, and strive for operational excellence and customer-driven innovation in a global growth environment. This role will also leverage deep relationships and industry research to make decisions that will help us scale our revenue, build multi-channel programs, and customer-driven innovation in a global growth environment.

The ideal candidate will have previously held a similar role in a quickly scaling sales organization, ideally at a video / entertainment company, large technology platform or digital brand, and have a passion for storytelling through audio and video content.

Additional locations include : New York, New York, Los Angeles, California.

Key job responsibilities :

  • Owns key client and agency relationships and builds accounts by establishing trust and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work; establish inroads to major holding companies
  • Demonstrates thought-leadership in video, content and audio
  • Leads calls and meetings to uncover needs, provide updates, and receive project feedback
  • Continually develop quality and quantity of opportunities needed to achieve territory goals, providing regular funnel activity / updates
  • Strike commercial deals where possible at the hold co. investment level; establish advocacy amongst senior leaders and their teams at the op co's and seek account-level longer term commitments that are stewarded by the agency
  • Achieve monthly KPIs including, but not limited to pre-determined number of face-to-face customer presentations, quotes and wins
  • Supports the gathering of any required assets, documentation, and data from clients and other sources
  • Manages client projects from beginning to end and works with internal teams on timelines, internal and external communication, resources, and deliverables; delivers project timelines to clients and proactively keeps documentation and project management software updated
  • Creates quotes and proposals for new projects; Builds project budgets and statements of work
  • Cultivates and seeks new opportunities within current clients and agencies; prospects new clients and assists in the creation and delivery of pitches
  • Establishes internal processes that allow for resource sharing amongst teams (research, tooling, templates) and train AE's and AM's on use of these tools and optimizing pitches and processes
  • Reviews all assigned work to ensure quality control and the achievement of the finalized goal
  • Manages project finances ensuring accountant has all necessary information for billing and invoicing

    Basic qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in media sales
  • 5+ years of experience with entertainment marketing, audio or other media sales
  • 2+ years of video experience
  • Experience building client-side media agency partnerships
  • Experience using data and analytics to drive sales strategy and results
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent sales experience
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Background in selling comprehensive video solutions to Fortune 1000 brands and major holding company agencies
  • Relationship building skills with sales teams (and ideally with content creators, agencies and brands)
  • Passion for video content and storytelling

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,200 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. This position is eligible for variable pay via a sales compensation plan. These plans pay according to achievement level against sales targets and / or business objectives. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
