Home Health Aide

Position Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and skilled HHAs or CNAs who are committed to delivering high-quality care to our clients in the comfort of their homes. This role involves providing essential personal care and support, under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring safety, dignity, and well-being for every client.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in both home health and hospice care

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with personal care needs, including hygiene, grooming, and dressing, per the home health aide care plan.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition promptly, following agency guidelines.
• Document all care activities thoroughly and submit completed paperwork within agency deadlines.
• Support safe, clean environments for clients by performing basic housekeeping tasks and maintaining a hazard-free area.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with mobility, including walking and repositioning.
• Collaborate with therapy staff to support rehabilitative exercises, as appropriate.
• Encourage client engagement in activities to promote mental alertness.
• Provide emotional support, fostering trust, confidentiality, and comfort with both the client and their family.
• Responsibly use agency equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a commitment to superior care standards.
• Attend mandatory continuing education or in-service training (12 hours per year).
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings.

Education & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum of one year’s experience in personal care within a hospital, home care agency, or healthcare setting
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and up-to-date auto insurance
• CPR certification (preferred)
• Completion of approved home health aide training course preferred but not required
• Current HHA or CNA certification is desirable but not mandatory

Skills and Competencies:

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team and with clients

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 325 pounds with assistive devices
• Capability to stand, walk, and perform extensive bending, stretching, and reaching throughout shifts

Working Conditions:

• May require driving in adverse weather conditions
• Potential exposure to unsanitary home environments
