Finance Director

Base pay range : $170,000.00 / yr - $210,000.00 / yr

Compensation : $170,000 - $210,000 + Bonus

About the Role

Our Transportation and Trucking Client is looking to bring on a strong Finance Director to head up FP&A and partner with the CFO and other Senior Executives. This individual will have the opportunity to own forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling while eventually growing a team underneath them. Their ideal candidate must have progressive FP&A experience and experience developing models.

Responsibilities

  • Drive alignment with organizational strategy by developing long-range financial plans, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and operational KPI frameworks.
  • Convert complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and KPI dashboards that guide senior leadership in strategic decision-making.
  • Assess operating performance against budgets, bank covenants, capital plans, revenue patterns, and cost structures to uncover risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
  • Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders.
  • Establish standardized reporting formats and methodologies to ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity of all financial outputs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to validate the financial viability of business initiatives and ensure alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Support growth efforts by creating pricing models, financial proposals, and full business cases for new contracts, renewals, and expansion opportunities.
  • Lead scenario analysis, profitability modeling, and financial recommendations for RFP submissions, customer negotiations, and renewal discussions.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor movements, and broader industry trends to shape pricing strategies and long-term growth plans.
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations Excellence, and Accounting to ensure data integrity, proper system configuration, and accurate reporting structures.
  • Prepare senior leadership and Board presentation materials, ensuring clarity, precision, and strategic relevance.
  • Coach and mentor operations teams to develop a high-performance environment that balances financial rigor with commercial responsiveness.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • 8+ years of FP&A experience is required.
  • Senior Manager level or above is required.
  • Systems Experience such as Power BI, Anaplan, Adaptive, SAP, MS Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Sage 300, Acumatica, Oracle, Workday, MS Business Central, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics GP or Intacct all deemed good.
  • Eye for details – attention to quality and accuracy is of paramount importance in this role.
