Assembler

As an assembler, you will be responsible for reviewing shop packets, bills of material, and engineering documents to ensure incoming materials meet the correct quantity, quality, and part number requirements. You will select parts, tools, and equipment for quality assembly, follow inspection specifications, and perform dimensional checks. Additionally, you will package completed components for shipment and perform operator maintenance on departmental tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review shop packets, bills of material, and engineering documents for correct quantity, quality, and part number.
• Select parts, tools, and equipment for quality assembly.
• Follow inspection specifications and perform dimensional checks.
• Package completed components for shipment, including constructing skids, selecting packaging materials, shrink wrapping, banding, and labeling.
• Perform operator maintenance and operational checks on departmental tools and equipment.
• Segregate and dispose of scrap / recycled material as required.
• Frequently lift / move up to 75 lbs; job requires standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
• Operate material handling equipment to move materials.
• Receive daily direction and support from Team Leader / Supervisor.
• Adhere to quality standards and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Keep work area, tools, and equipment neat and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Ability to read and write, follow written instructions, and complete job-related paperwork. Experience with assembly, blueprints, schematics, hand tools, mechanical assembly, and tape measures. 12 years of experience in complex assembly operations preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in packing, unloading, stand-up forklift, and warehouse inventory. Ability to perform advanced assembly of complex components and systems using various hand and power tools. Experience in training other employees in both basic and complex assembly operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warwick, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
