In April 2023, TRATON embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate independent brand Research & Development (R&D) Organizations in Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus into a single global TRATON R&D organization.

By integrating the capabilities and resources of our brands, we will accelerate the introduction of new technologies and solutions to deliver the most competitive products and solutions to our customers.

We currently have a great opportunity for a Product Cost Controller on our TRATON USA's R&D Team.

The Product Cost Controller will play a pivotal role in managing and guiding product cost structures across all stages of the product lifecycle. Reporting to the TRATON Group Product Cost Controlling team, this position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across all TRATON brands, including Scania, MAN, and VWTB.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage product costs for all product changes by consolidating current cost data with new design and assembly processes.
• Build and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs) from early concept stages to final product release.
• Define and develop target costs, product costs, and tooling estimates.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Teams, Purchasing, Finance, and more to align cost objectives.
• Package design concepts, cost definitions, and relevant data for target setting and cost tracking purposes.
• Present accurate, timely, and consistent cost data to support effective decision-making.
• Maintain product profitability by identifying cost drivers and recommending corrective actions.
• Represent cost control interests on Program Teams to ensure target costs are achieved.
• Conduct product cost calculations throughout the lifecycle, consolidating data across TRATON brands.
• Prepare and distribute executive-level cost reports and participate in high-level reviews.
• Define costing structures to support major decision milestones, reviews, and approvals.
• Challenge and monitor product costs for current and future projects.
