Patient Accounts / Collections Representative - Behavioral Health

Responsibilities

Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, and the CD population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone is seeking a dynamic and talented Patient Accounts Representative to work full-time, 40 hours per week.

The Patient Accounts / Collections Representative is responsible for insurance verification and insurance billing, follow up of billed accounts, upfront collections and collection of assigned patient accounts by contacting insurance companies and third-party payors to resolve all outstanding owed balances to resolution or patient responsibility and explore patient's financial circumstances to ensure fair and reasonable repayment terms. Will meet with patients and / or call Guarantor's to collect outstanding balances due. Coordinates information with ClaimAid contracted employee so they can follow for applications for Medicaid / HIP or Marketplace insurance.

Qualifications

Education : High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience : A minimum of two (2) years experience in health care billing / collections, or any combination of education, training, or experience in a health care business office environment. Experience with insurance billing on UB04 claim forms, computer and business software programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc) preferred.

Additional Requirements : May be required to work flexible hours and occasional overtime. MUST exhibit SERVICE EXCELLENCE AT ALL TIMES !!!! This is a non-exempt hourly position.
