• Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is a burgeoning rehabilitation system with 31 hospital partners across the state of Michigan. The flagship hospital is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan with 187 acute and subacute beds. Mary Free Bed is rated in the top 10 rehabilitation hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.Mary Free Bed Medical Group has been retained by Sparrow Health to recruit a full-time experienced, dynamic individual with strong leadership skills to provide Physiatry Services for Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health located in Lansing.
• Essential Job Responsibilities
• Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of license, certification, or registration and as required by Federal and State laws and regulations.
• Provides professional medical services in the specialty of physiatry to patients of Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health – Sparrow in the inpatient unit.
• Maintains medical records in a timely fashion and cooperates with billing, peer review and compliance programs
• Provides oversight and education for students, residents, and any mid-level providers
• Maintains staff privileges at Sparrow Heath, and mutually agreed upon other hospitals, including the duties required to maintain those privileges such as medical record completion, committee service, compliance, citizenship, etc.
• Identifies and promotes opportunities for improvement of care and actively participates in Sparrow Health quality initiatives
• Monitors developments in specialty field and promotes new programs that meet new program criteria
• Provides medical leadership to treatment team treating assigned patients and promotes harmonious and effective team functioning
• Models professional behavior
• Enhances knowledge and understanding of capabilities and services among medical professionals and patient populations through regular participation in professional education sessions with network partners, discharge planning conferences at regional acute care hospitals, participation in ICU and other Rehab teams at network and regional acute care hospitals and similar activities, community outreach and programming opportunities presented or promoted by the Hospital.
• Promotes the financial viability of Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health – Sparrow.
• Promotes the development and dissemination of new knowledge, preferably in peer reviewed journalsFor the past 9 years, Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health – Sparrow has grown and maintained an excellent reputation in the Lansing region, serving the population with a 40-bed rehabilitation unit on the sixth floor of the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

• Opportunity to work alongside an experienced Advanced Practice Provider in a busy 45,000 square foot adult rehabilitation unit overseeing 40-beds on the sixth floor of the Sparrow Hospital.
• The Physiatrist provide inpatient and consult services. Call and weekend coverage required, and Daily IP census is 35.
• Qualifications :
• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Board Certified or Board eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
