Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
• Evaluates students' progress and completes required documentation in a timely manner
• Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students' swim skills
• Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
• Assists with setting up the pool prior to lessons and cleaning up after lessons, including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
• Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours

Job Requirements and Skills:

• No experience is necessary. With paid training provided, this is a great job for recent high school graduates and/or college students.
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider is a plus!
• Must pass background examinations (included with training).
• Ability to work with children
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Must pass background examinations (included with training)
• Instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus
• High School Diploma/GED required, Some College preferred
• Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications are obtainable by employees in the future, and are rewarded with additional compensation upon completion
• For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides training at no cost to the employee while they undergo their paid training
• Certification courses in our facility, which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.

Goldfish Swim School is a learn-to-swim facility for kids ages 4 months to 12 years. Our proven confidence-building curriculum promotes a love of swimming and teaches children to be safer in and around the water. For additional information see:

Starting Pay Rate: $16.50/hour with regular opportunities for wage increase

Compensation: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
