PROACTIVE POST Business Analyst III

LHH is seeking a Rates & Tax Subject Matter Expert (SME)/BA to support the Kraken Transformation Program by designing, testing, and implementing automated business processes that deliver high accuracy in utility billing, tax rates, and charge rate operations. This role is critical to ensuring that rate structures-base rates, riders, exemptions, pro-rations, and other modifiers-are accurately reflected and fully functional within the Kraken system.

What You'll Do

Develop and optimize business process workflows ensuring compliance with rules, obligations, controls, and service levels.

Implement end-to-end business processes for charge rates (commodity, transmission, delivery, etc.), tax rates, outside-party charges, and company-specific fees (e.g., reconnect fees, interest charges).

Ensure seamless integration of automated invoicing, financial reconciliation, and dispute-resolution processes.

Drive business standardization across jurisdictions and align processes with out-of-the-box software capabilities.

Assess exceptions, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies to support consistent rate and tax implementation.

Coordinate with functional peers and cross-functional analysts, providing clear direction and support.

Ensure all deliverables meet requirements and deadlines.

Provide production support throughout the program lifecycle.

What You Bring

5+ years of utility billing experience, including rate calculations, revenue assurance, invoicing, or billing operations.

Strong knowledge of utility billing methodologies, proration, adjustments, disputes, exception handling, bill composition, and bill delivery.

Hands-on configuration experience in CIS systems, aligning system configuration with business requirements.

Experience delivering functional products within medium- to large-scale CIS or meter-to-cash programs.

Understanding of financial controls and bulk execution strategies to ensure billing accuracy.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance in utility billing operations.

Proven ability to lead stakeholder communication across business and project leadership levels.

Pay: $55-$60/hr.
