City Auditor
The City of Scottsdale is seeking a City Auditor. The City Auditor's Office plays a vital role in strengthening public trust and ensuring that City operations are effective, transparent, and aligned with Scottsdale's commitment to excellence. Reporting directly to the City Council, the City Auditor serves as an independent, objective resourceproviding insight, foresight, and oversight across all municipal functions. The Office is a cornerstone of Scottsdale's reputation as one of the best-managed cities in the nation.
The Ideal City Auditor is a respected, forward-thinking professional who brings deep expertise in performance auditing, internal controls, risk management, and organizational improvement. This individual understands the importance of independence while fostering constructive, solutions-oriented relationships across a high-performing organization.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, and a minimum of seven years of direct experience in audit program management, of which three years should be as a supervisor. Governmental experience at the federal, state, or local level with Yellow Book Audits and extensive report writing background is strongly preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and / or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
