    8 and 12-hour shifts

    Every third weekend rotation

    Holiday rotation

    Sign-On Bonus : $15,000 for 3rd Shift

    Student Loan Forgiveness : Up to $20,000

    Unit Overview :

    Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , caring for a diverse patient population, including :

  • Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.
  • Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.
  • Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .
  • High volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, alongside medical overflow cases .

    • As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and advanced care.

  • Deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care using the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for safe and compassionate care.
  • Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to enhancing the patient experience across the care continuum.

    • Major Responsibilities :

  • Use the nursing process for patient assessment, planning, and implementing personalized care interventions.
  • Anticipate significant changes in patient conditions and adapt care plans accordingly.
  • Implement strategies focused on patient safety and risk reduction.
  • Coordinate discharge planning utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of patient and unit outcomes, taking action as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively and foster collaboration within the healthcare team.
  • Promote a culture of safety and report patient safety events timely.
  • Utilize ethical decision-making to collaborate with the care team.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and fulfill educational requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients.

    • Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA.

    • Education Required :

  • Completion of an accredited program in Nursing.

    • Experience Required :

  • Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

  • Ability to provide holistic patient care with a family-focused approach.
  • Confidence in responding to changing clinical situations.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records and communication tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and human relation skills.
  • Ability to make critical and independent decisions effectively.
